Center of Excellence
The mission of the KTS IT Portfolio Management Center of Excellence is to adopt, promote, and sustain the development and usage of industry best practices, processes, expertise, and knowledge with respect to IT Portfolio Management and Capital Planning and Investment Control and thereby play a key role in the IT investment management across all Federal agencies. The Center of Excellence works closely with all practice areas to create a highly skilled and disciplined organization, which enable KTS to better serve its customers and collaborate more effectively within the organization.
The IT Portfolio Management Center of Excellence is the preferred source of expertise, information, and knowledge for IT Portfolio Management and Capital Planning and Investment Control practices within the Koniag family of companies.
Through a combination of high quality expertise and strategic alliances, the IT Portfolio Management Center of Excellence will disseminate innovative, cost effective and high quality IT Portfolio Management solutions to the Federal community. The underlying tenets of our Mission will be to realize the following objectives within KTS as an exemplar within the Koniag family of companies:
- Establish and provide guidelines and principles, methodologies, best practice references, and architecture decision support to members of the community.
- Establish and promote collaboration on key issues such as IT governance policies, IT Portfolio Management initiatives, IT investment maturity, integration of financial management core procedures, and establish and promote process improvement.
- Promote the integration of IT Portfolio Management with Capital Planning and Investment Control, Enterprise Architecture, Financial Management, and Project Management disciplines.
- Promote the use of industry best practices in successful integration of business processes, policies, technology, and information technology across the Federal sector.
- Promote the integration and adoption of industry best practices in Federal policies.
- Promote asset reuse and knowledge transfer within KTS.
- Partner with organizations who share similar goals in establishing IT Portfolio Management and Capital Planning best practices.
- Promote and oversee training and certification activities in the areas of IT Portfolio Management and Capital Planning and Investment Control.
The Center of Excellence uses a centralized model that integrates a number of key elements to support the successful delivery of Federal programs. The model provides a comprehensive method for integrating policy, strategy, IT governance, and process frameworks. The KTS Center of Excellence asset library incorporates a vast collection of reference documents, policy and practice guides, plan and process templates in order to afford the mechanism for providing an overarching solution to IT Portfolio Management.
